Why we build these

ThirtyBees is a capable, straightforward eCommerce platform, and it is a fork of PrestaShop 1.6, which is both its strength and its catch. The strength is a mature, familiar foundation. The catch is that many third-party developers see the word fork and walk away, PayFast being the most frustrating example, leaving South African store owners without tools they need.

So we build them ourselves. We run ThirtyBees, we develop for it, and when we build something our own stores need, we make it available rather than keeping it to ourselves. Most of what follows is free. We do not develop for WooCommerce, it already has a broad plugin ecosystem, our development work is where the gap actually is.

PayFast Gateway (free)

PayFast provides a module for PrestaShop but declines to support it on ThirtyBees. So we coded a PayFast gateway for ThirtyBees from scratch. It connects your ThirtyBees store to PayFast cleanly and reliably, giving your customers the local, trusted payment screen they already recognise, covered further in our article on payment gateways for a South African store. It is free, and if you run ThirtyBees and need PayFast, it solves a problem that otherwise has no good answer.

Google Analytics GA4 Purchase Tracking (free)

Getting eCommerce tracking to work correctly in the current version of Google Analytics is notoriously fiddly, and a store that tracks purchases incorrectly is making decisions on bad data. Our module detects the full purchase journey properly and records completed sales accurately in GA4, so your analytics reflect what actually happened in your store rather than an approximation. Also free.

Manufacturers Carousel (free)

A clean, presentable way to showcase the brands or manufacturers you stock, as a carousel on your storefront. It is the kind of small touch that makes a store look established and trustworthy, and it is free.

Gift Certificate Module (paid, coming soon)

Our newest build, and the first we will offer as a paid product. It brings proper gift certificate functionality to ThirtyBees, letting your customers buy and redeem gift certificates in your store, a genuine revenue driver, particularly around holidays and special occasions. It is currently in testing, and we will announce availability once it is ready. If it is something you would want for your store, let us know and we will tell you the moment it launches.

How to get them

Open a support ticket and tell us which modules you would like. If we are installing or configuring your ThirtyBees store, the free modules can be set up as part of that work. And if there is something you wish ThirtyBees did and it does not, tell us, more than one of the modules above started as exactly that kind of request.

Good to know

These modules exist because we actually run and develop for ThirtyBees, which is worth weighing if you are choosing a platform or a host for a ThirtyBees store. A host that has never opened the code cannot help you when something specific to the platform breaks, and cannot build you the piece you are missing. We can, and frequently do.
